Dear Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Cervid Farmers and Taxidermists,
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 28, 29 and 30, 2007 we will once again be testing hunter-killed deer for Chronic Wasting Disease. We do this every year at the Pennsylvania Game Commission's regional office in Franklin, Venango County.
Each year we invite you to participate and hone your skills or to learn for the first time how to sample deer for this disease. We plan to be at the PGC HQ from 8 am to 4 pm each of these days. It has been our experience that after sampling around 20 deer, you are much more confident about this process.
Please feel welcome to join us on any of those days. It is important that you let us know ahead of time when you plan to arrive so that we will have enough space and enough tools available for everyone who is interested in learning. After this training we can certify you as a CCT (Certified CWD Technician).
