Vacuum Bags
Posted: Fri Aug 14, 2007 12:20 a.m. Post subject: Vacuum Bags

I'm looking to see if anyone has used those seal-a-meal type bags to vacuum out the air and seal the bags for freezer storage on deer capes. They would take up a lot less room in the freezer packaged this way.
My question is: Would that break the deer's hollow hair? How long can the cape be kept this way in the freezer without messing it up?
Thanks for any help.

Kaye

I just use regular freezer bags (ice bags) ,because I salt all my capes as they are coming in ,once they are back from the tannery they are wet tanned and frozen taking up minimal space. Hope this helps out
Take care

Joe
