Trapper,
I received my license from the PA Dept. of Ag in the mail on December 22, 2006.
How long ago did you send in your application & fee?

thank you for your reply, i contacted them & was told they are waitting for my money . i told them i was informed by them that they would" honor" my game commission license that was renewed & just send in my application with that info on it. they told me they changed there minds (all about money i guess) so you think someone would have given me a call??? it upsets me the way things are done, now they want $100 again, why can't it be $10 ???? seams to me thats a lot a money for filling out a form. thank you for your help

Trapper you might want to read the updates on this Forum concerning the PDA and PGC situations. Everything is spelled out very clearly.
The PDA could not honor money sent to the PGC because they are two different agencies and the state's attorneys determined it would be illegal to do so.
The PTA worked very hard with the PGC to obtain refunds for those permittees that paid for multiple years and the refunds are now being processed. If you paid for a single year permit last June you MUST send in $100 to the PDA to be covered under a new LICENSE. That license is renewable on a yearly basis from the date of application. Soooo.....if you want your "permit year" to start July 1st then that is when you send your application and fee in. If you want your permit year to begin Jan. 1 then send your fee in on Jan 1. Its pretty simple really.
Regarding your question about why the fee is $100 and not $10-- that is best answered just as simply: Why is a gallon of milk $2.50? A gallon of gas $2.00? A deer manikin $42?
Do you get my point Trapper? It is what it is. We all have to pay it--let's just be glad its not $200 and let's be glad we're not in Indiana or Illinois where WCOs are still doing random, warrantless searches and putting taxidermists out of business just because they think they can.
See you in Altoona!
