Does anyone have any updates on the Dept of Ag. with the applications. I heard they won't be mailed out now until the end of Oct. Is this true?

Thanks

Dan Snyder and Paul Czarnecki will be traveling to Harrisburg on Tuesday the 10th of October for a roundtable meeting with PDA, PGC, & PTA to iron out some issues so that the rules and regulations can be finalized. It is our hope that as soon as that aspect of the licensing is settled that the PDA will be mailing out applications for the taxidermy license.

The official date to take over the licensing was 90 days from July 7th - so everything is real close to taking effect with the PDA - please be patient. Dan & Paul will post here when they return from their meeting I'm sure.

Thanks,
Becky

Hi. Is there any update on what's going on. It has been 90 days since the bill past.

We're still waiting on the Department of Agriculture to get everything done.

Did they give you a time frame on when they would have it done.

Here's what's going on with the Department of Ag.

Due to retirements/job changes/etc. the Department of Ag is short on clerical staff. These are state jobs. There is a hiring freeze on state workers. Not only did the Department of Ag get the taxidermists but also all of the Deer & Elk breeders in PA to register/license/oversee. This is going to take a clerical position to handle all of the paperwork. Until the legislature approves a person to be hired it's all going to be in limbo.

The Department of Ag has the listing of all previously PGC permitted taxidermists - to that they all have started a list of people who have contacted the Dept of Ag to become a licensed taxidermist. As soon as the Dept. of Ag has the personnel in place they will begin processing & licensing taxidermists. Any questions that you may have are to go through Mary Martin at the Dept. of Ag 717-783-6897
