The West Nile Surveillance Program will continue this year. Our sentinel site will again be in Erie. If you receive phone calls about wild birds, these call should not go to 1-877-PAHEALTH. All calls about wild birds should go to the PA Game Commission or to the West Nile Virus Coordinator. Each county has a WNV Coordinator. The lists of contact numbers are attached or can be found at http://www.westnile.state.pa.us/CountyCoordinators/contacts.asp
Attached is a revised list of guidelines with this new info and a list of WNV county coordinators.

Bird die-offs in Pennsylvania can be reported as follows*:
Wild birds
5 (five) or more dead wild birds (except pigeons) call the corresponding Pennsylvania Game Commission Regional Office and the Pennsylvania Game Commission Wildlife Veterinarian: Dr. Walter O. Cottrell at (814) 863-8370
Domestic/commercial birds
Any number of dead domestic/commercial birds, call the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, 717-772-2852 (24/7)
WNV wild bird testing: Have them call their WNV county coordinator (numbers on PA WNV website).
